Free Standing lace, as the name implies, its a lace that you don’t have to stitch on other fabric.
For stitching FSL designs you need water-soluble stabilizer (looks like fabric I’ve found to be best, no transparencies look like film). Better result you will have if use 2 layers of stabilizer and hoop them very tight.
Stitch it as regular design. If lace to be seen from both sides, use matching bobbin thread. But it’s not necessary.
After stitching remove embroidery from hoop. Cut excessive stabilizer all around the embroidery. Wash embroidery in warm water. Let a dry and iron it (if it require).
